Isn't it romantic when a guy gets down on his knees and romantically proposes to you? Well, it is, to me! I'm old school like that! I secretly wish that my boyfriend will get down on his knees when he makes an official proposal for my hand in marriage. But of course, there's the whole meeting my family thing to ask for their permission before an official proposal can happen.
In my humble opinion, a guy getting down on his knees just goes to show how much he cares for his lady that he's ready to show humility for her. I, for one, believe that humility goes a long way in a relationship. How can you resist a better half who is never too proud to admit he needs your help; who treats others as nicely as he would want to be treated; and who is not too egotistical to admit his mistakes?
Falling in love makes you feel like you're at the top of the world, like you can do anything, like you can die for it. Just be sure that you love him for who he is and for how he respects you, despite all the romantic things he says. Let him know that you're not to be taken for granted and you want not just all the cheesy romantic stuff but more importantly his respect and you want him to let you be independent in expressing yourself. Communication is the key. True love is about understanding each other and compromising but not to the extent it takes your personality away. After all, a guy who loves you enough brings the best out of you and keeps you grounded while making you feel special. Be sure to return the favour for love is a two-way street.
I'm a woman in love and I love what it is doing to me. To have found someone who loves and supports me in every imaginable way and to love that person unconditionally, it is one of the best feelings.
TA!
